Srinagarind Dam

The Srinagarind Dam (also known as theSrinakarin Dam; Thai: เขื่อนศรีนครินทร์;rtgs: Khuean Sinakharin) is an embankment dam on the Khwae Yai river in Si Sawat District of Kanchanaburi Province,Thailand. The main purpose of the dam is river regulation and hydroelectric power generation. The dam's power station has a 720 megawatts (970,000 hp) capacity of which 360 megawatts (480,000 hp) ispumped storage.(see :wiki)

Hellfire Pass (Thai: ช่องเขาขาด, known by the Japanese as Konyu Cutting) is the name of a railway cutting on the formerBurma Railway ("Death Railway") inThailand which was built with forced labour during the Second World War, in part by Allied prisoners of war. The pass is noted for the harsh conditions and heavy loss of life suffered by its labourers during construction. Hellfire Pass is so called because the sight of emaciated prisoners labouring at night by torchlight was said to resemble a scene from Hell. (See :wiki)
